Fourth Quarter
Students will read a variety of authentic text for meaning. Students will respond to text and make connections to their world. Students will use several journals to express their thoughts and respond to text. Students will also publish their writing. Students will work in small guided reading groups. Students will independently read and write. Students will enjoy read alouds, create shared writing pieces and actively participate in shared reading.
Students will organize ideas and communicate effectively.
Fourth Quarter
Students will count, read and writing numbers. Students will investigate place value of whole numbers; explore money, addition and subtraction facts, fact families, and problem solving. Students will collect, organize and display data using tables, charts and graphs. Students will use tools to measure length, capacity and weight. Students will use clocks, calendars, timelines, thermometers, and ordinal numbers (such as fifth or tenth). Students will explore patterns and write number stories.

Fourth Quarter
Students will earn about Matter (Solids, Liquids & Gases). Students will record, label and illustrate observations in their Science journals.

Fourth QuarterStudents will discover they can make valuable contibutions at school by helping others, respecting school property, being positive, and solving problems. Students will explore some situations they might encounter at school and discuss the best ways to be good helpers. Students will discuss Presidents, Women and African Americans' contributions to America. Students will review American holidays.Students will organize ideas and communicate effectively.

Students will learn how to resolve conflicts appropriately.

Fourth Quarter
Students will have an opportunity to create Glogsters, Digital Stories and I Movies. Students will use laptops to explore various educational web-sites and to create projects. Students will log on to our Reader's Response page, respond to text and save information on our discussion page. Students will have an opportunity to use ipods during their instructional time. Students will use Skills Tutor to practice math and reading strategies.Students will operate, use all technology and become an experience "tech leader".
